*Summer 2011*
This summer, Hunter will be playing for the Austin Expos in the Centex Collegiate Baseball League, which is an affiliate of the National Baseball Congress, the largest amateur baseball league in the United States.
* Athletic Accomplishments *
As a member of Clark's JV baseball team his freshman year, he recognized that the team had a shortage of outfielders and asked his coach to be moved to outfield. In this role, he excels, with a three year Varsity plays made rating of 92%. He plays center, left and right field with equal speed, accuracy and success and you can often hear him leading his team mates from his position. At 2b, Hunter is a reliable infielder - able to make difficult plays with ease and speed. He is truly a versatile player.
Hunter's defensive skills aren't the only tools he brings to a team. He is a left-handed batter who has batted lead-off through most of his Sophomore and Junior year. As a senior, he is batting in the 2 hole. Hunter had an exceptional senior year at the plate, placing throughout the season as either #1 or # 2 batting average of District 27-5A. Regular season District stats: 64 plate appearances, 57 hits, 26 singles, 2 doubles, a triple and a home run. He walked 7 times, reached base an additional 3 times, and sucessfully sacrificed 5 times. He scored 23 runs and had 24 RBIs for the season. Batting average: .600, OB% .594, Slug% .740%.
* Academic Accomplishments *
Hunter is a true representation of a "Student Athlete", as he has maintained a 3.80 average or above throughout his High School career. His coursework includes AP, Honors and dual credit classes. In addition, he finds time to volunteer and participate in his community - Little League, Select Leagues, and Young Life are just a few of the organizations where this young man devotes time.
